Disney’s Dare to Dream – Auditions Now Open

Sunnyvale Community Players is holding auditions for performers ages 8–18 for our Summer 2025 youth production of Disney’s Dare to Dream, a 60-minute musical revue featuring songs from beloved Disney films including Encanto, Frozen II, Coco, and The Princess and the Frog.

Key Dates

  • Auditions & First Rehearsals: June 8–9, 2025

  • Rehearsals: June 8 – July 17 (Sunday–Thursday evenings)

  • Tech Week: July 20–25 (No conflicts permitted)

  • Performances: July 26, 27, 31 and August 1–3, 2025
    at the Sunnyvale Theatre

What to Prepare

  • One vocal piece (maximum 90 seconds) with a backing track only — no live accompaniment

  • Backing tracks must be submitted at least 48 hours before June 8

  • Auditions also include a dance call and a cold reading

  • Wear closed-toe shoes (jazz, character, or tennis shoes) and clothing you can move in

Audition Requirements

  • All participants must submit the online audition form

  • All performers who attend June 8–9 will be cast in the show

  • A Conflict Calendar is required to help build the rehearsal schedule

  • Participants with five or more conflicts may not be considered for lead roles

  • Double casting may occur depending on turnout; casts will alternate performances

Participation Fee

  • $450 for the first child

  • $350 for each additional sibling
    Fees are collected after casting is complete

  • Scholarships are available

About the Show

Set on the first day at a fictional Walt Disney Imagineering Studio, this production follows a group of trainees discovering how dreams can inspire and unite. The show offers a variety of ensemble and featured roles designed to showcase young talent.

Character Roles

There are 15 named roles, each with distinct personalities and storytelling opportunities. Roles are open to all races, identities, genders, and body types. SCP is committed to creating an equitable, inclusive, and anti-racist environment in all aspects of production.
